Restaurant Lapad, Lapad, Croatia

A local speciality is the 'under the bell' dishes. The dish cooks all day in the fire in a peka (bell).
At Restaurant Lapad the dish has to be ordered in advance (at least 6 hours), allegedly there are restaurant that make a portion of this dish every day and offer it on the menu without pre-order.
We ordered our 'under the bell' dish on the Tuesday when we first visited the restaurant. Our order was for Thursday around 20.00. We did arrive a bit early, but was told that our meal was ready when we were.

HZ 🍽️ Lamb under the bell (lamb, potatoes and vegetables with bread on the side) 〰️ The meat fell from the bone and was very tender, but the lamb-taste was not was pronounced as we had expected. The potato had a lovely flavour from cooking with the lamb. The meat was sufficient for two people, while the potatoes could have feed three or four. We didn't encounter the vegetables, we think.

Our meal was accompanied by Coca Cola as well as still and sparkling water respectfully.

The service good, the wait for our food was a bit long. While we were seated and waiting the head waiter was at the bar talking to a colleague making gestures at the guest, the grill and the kitchen. Our interpretation was that he was not happy with the service.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ the food was good and plenty, service was good except for the waiting time.
