Café Mango, Taastrup, DK, EU

We visited Café Mango in Taastrup, DK,EU, on a Sunday around 12 o’clock.

It was not overly filled. We saw three maybe for groups, both couples and families.

There was 16 different choices on the brunch note. The difference between picking 6 and picking 9 was only 10dkk. We both chose 9.

The note gave me an opportunity to put down a written note to the kitchen about my food allergies - this was a plus in my book. The waiter did return to clarify my note. The raw vs. cooked tomatoes often confuse people.

We didn’t wait very long for our food - it at least was not long enough for us to get bored.

Overall we liked the meal. Let’s run through the list quickly with a few notes to improve.

🍽️Scrambled eggs with bacon: ✔️made the Danish way (not the G.Ramsay way)

🍽️Salmon roll w/ goats cheese: ✔️ very good, Z would have preferred less dill.

🍽️2 kinds of cheese: ✔️a mild Brie and classic sliced cheese.

🍽️Spicy chorizos: ✔️ fried sliced.

🍽️Pancakes w/ maple syrup: 〰️ there was only one pancake, but there was enough syrup to drizzle on the Brie too.

🍽️Fruit bowl: 〰️ red grapes, galia melon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, pineapple. The melons were slice a bit big for my taste. The pineapple had too much core on the slices. We found two grapes that were trash - in our opinion.

🍽️Two kinds of sliced meat: 〰️ there was only one kind.

🍽️Chicken salat: ✔️ very nice, the chicken was treads not cubes, which I like. The mushrooms were very chunky compared to the chicken - maybe mince it about more in the future.

🍽️Mozzarella sticks: 〰️ served lukewarm.

🍽️Menemen: ✔️ a lovely surprise to find and great experience.

🍽️Filo roll w/ vegetables: ✔️ delicious.

🍽️Toast with cheese and ham: 〰️ two slices of cheese and two slices of ham. Served lukewarm. No one would burn themselves on these that’s for sure - it was the first thing we ate.

🍽️1 croissant and a bread basket: 〰️ the basket had 4 pieces rye bread and 4 pieces white bread, but no croissants. There were two packages of butter too. The amount of bread was adequate, but we didn’t finish is because there was not enough butter.

Service was fast once we were at the table, but had someone inquired if we needed anything else we would have mentioned the butter.

We chatted a bit with the server about they menemen, when we first had it in Berlin they made it with sucuk, but this version was without. All around nice service.

Our overall experience was good and we would probably return another time.
